List of the highest mountains in West Java

Who doesn’t know the beauty of the mountains in West Java?  So  West Java is one of the provinces in Indonesia. The country’s contours in this area have proved much higher compared to several other provinces on java island.

Due to the existence of many mountains, it is not surprising that so far many people choose West Java for a holiday. The plateau in this province appears to have an altitude of about 1000–2000 m above sea level.

Besides being tall, it turns out that natural beauty is one of the things that is prominent. It is also not surprising that many climbers make gunung in West Java as one of their destinations.

There are many mountains in West Java, but some of you  may be curious about where the highest plains are.

Mount Chiremai in West Java is the highest

The first highest mountain is Chiremai. So Chiremai is in Cunningan, Sirebon and Mayalengka. The height of Cirremai can reach 3,078 meters above sea level and is one of the active volcanoes. The top is on the crater’s oral where it is quite gentle and wide.

Climbers can use four official footpaths. Each of them certainly has its own difficulties and pleasantness. There are so many beauties offered by Chiremai. Starting from natural nature to a state that is still beautiful.

Well, for climbers, you need to understand what is the easiest path to usethe hardest.   Do not allow  risico later because you do not know that the terrain is used correctly.

Chiremai really takes the number one position as the highest mountain in West Java.   As one of the highest mountains, it turns out that in Chiremaj you can see flowers on Edelweiss when you are at the top.

In addition to Edelweiss, there are various historical sites at the foot of the mountain for Indonesia. Even duringthe White Colonization, it  was shown that linggaryati’s negotiating building was at the foot of Chiremai.

Pangrange Second Highest Mountain in West Java

The next plateau to be found in western Java is Pangrange. So Pangrange has an altitude of about 3,019 meters above sea level, you can find it through the roads Bogor, Sukabumi and Siandjur.

Turns out Pangrange is involved in the Gede Pangrange National Park area and is really guarded. There is the Mandalavangi Valley, which is always a target for tourists. In this valley you will see a beautiful expanse of Edelweiss.

To be a tourist area where it was officially announced in 1980, pangrange was often visited by tourists, especially hikers. Although many want to climb, it turns out that the first person to step on top of Pangrange was not Indonesian but German, C.G.C. Reinwardt or founder of the Bogori Botanical Garden in 1819.

In 1977, Pangrange was successfully named as the UNESCO Biofir Reserve and this made its name more widely known than tourists. Many hikers want to see the beauty of the Mandavalangi Valley and the spread of Edelweiss on this plateau. Including the highest mountain in West Java and taking position number two, pangrango’s terrace managed to steal the attention of many visitors.

Many people outside Java think Pangrange and Gede are one part, although this is not right because they are also opposite each other. Pangrango is much higher compared to Mount Gedde. But because the place is too close, it is often considered one name.

Gunung Gede has Suriya Kencana Square

Well, as we mentioned earlier, there is Mount Gede. So this plateau is still located in the Gedde-Pangrange National Park area. This mountain has an altitude of about 2,958 m above sea level and is located opposite Pangrange.

There are many interesting things on  the Gedde Plateau, where there are several craters that are still active. Craters are Vadon Crater, Lanang Crater, Ratu Crater and New Crater.

Don’t imagine Suriya Kencana Square being the same as in some major cities or districts. In this square, you will be even more astonished by the view of the Edelway tree where there are many of them. But even so, climbers are only advised not to take Edelweiss yes, as it is also protected.

In addition to the many Edelway beds on the mountains in West Java, it turns out that Suriya Kencana Square is also often used as one of the  climbing camps.

Because it’s one of the areas of Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, so there’s a lot of fauna where it’s really protected. For example, Javan gibbon, Lutung Surill, Leopard, Bill Slentec and many others. So  the beauty  of  the mountain in West Java is still well protected.

Mount Chikuraj in West Java Exotic View Sunrise

In addition, there is Mount Chikuraj, which has an altitude of 2,821 m above sea level. This plateau has locations in The Districts of Chikayang, Bayongbong and Dajo mangung. The shape of this Sikuraj is completely conical and inactive. When he’s on top, he might be able to know that the area is flat and not too big. ButI’m not worried because there’s a  wake-up post.

Many climbers also came to Chikuraj to enjoy the sunrise.   So many climbers say that the view of the sunrise in this place is really much more beautiful when compared to the gun at the top of Papandayan.

Chikuraj is the fourth list of the highest mountains in West Java, but unfortunately, the top is really dirty due to vandalism from climbers where they are less responsible    .

If you want to climb, you can go through the Ciledug route which is a little safer and official. If from Bandung, it is actually very easy to travel using public transport. You can also continue public transport so you can get to the climbing door.

Even so, as a climber it is strongly recommended not to perform vandalism or throwthrow. It is much better to maintain the beauty of Sikuraj by enjoying the natural nature alone.

As one of the provinces with highlands, it is not surprising that West Java has many mountains. Some of them have a wonderful charm that makes tourists approach.

Even some of them have tourists outside the province who want to enjoy the beauty of West Java. He can also try to visit one of the mountains in West Java to feel the charm of his beauty.
